Synopsis of the Book

This book is to teach Christian believers how to become an effective Intercessor, prayer warrior, using the Holy Scriptures as a total basis of your works of faith through prayer.  It also teaches us how to enter the Throne of God, before our Father in Heaven, and how to be patient and not anxious as you are waiting for the answer to prayer.  It teaches you how to work your measure of faith.

The first part of the book consist of teaching and the latter part of this book follows with examples of intercessory prayers, listing scriptures to show the  foundation of your prayer and to illustrate how to truly pray according to the will of God and His Word.  “The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”  James 5:16

As an intercessor, one of the first realities I learned is that we never change God’s will, but the will of God will change us in producing the answer.  You will learn that prayer is not magical or the snap of the finger, but through my own experiences it has taught me to be much more aware of the unseen spiritual warfare, spiritual battles, but more than that it has taught me more about myself and how I can influence others to recognize what comes out of their mouth always affects their own life and how it affects their prayers for others.  More important, it has given me such a self assurance in the Word of God and the importance of sharing the Love of God with others through prayer.

I have been accused of being a positive thinker, but that is not the case; I have learned to become extremely aware of the words that proceed from my own mouth so it does not snare what I am presently believing for and thanking God through prayer.

In Ephesians 4:29-30 it is written:

“Let no fault or polluting language, nor evil word, nor unwholesome or worthless talk (ever) come out of your mouth; but only such (speech) as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, (do not offend, or vex, or sadden Him) by whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption−of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin” (Amplified).

Allow those words to sink into your innermost being.  Our Father has much to say about the little member, the tongue.  (James 3.)  Give the devil no opportunity by getting into worry, unforgiveness, strife, or criticism.  Put a stop to idle and foolish talking.  (Ephesians 4:27; 5:4.)  You are to be a blessing to others.  (Galatians 6:10.)
Talk the answer, not the problem.  THE ANSWER IS IN GOD’S WORD.  You must have knowledge of the Word−revelation knowledge.  (I Corinthians 2:7-16.)
As an intercessor, unite with other trustworthy intercessors in prayer.  United prayer is a mighty weapon that the body of Christ uses.  But keep in mind that you should be extremely familiar with the intercessors that you pray with so that you are in total agreement in prayer, this is what brings the answer according to the Word of God.

Believe you received when you pray.  Confess the Word.  Hold fast to your confession of faith in God’s Word.  Allow your spirit by the Holy Spirit to pray.  Praise God for the victory now before any manifestation.  Walk by faith and not by sight.  (II Corinthians 5:7.)

Do not be moved by adverse circumstances.  As Satan attempts to challenge you, resist him, be steadfast in the faith−letting patience have her perfect work.  (James 1:4.)  Take the sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith and quench his every fiery darts.  (Ephesians 6:16.)  The entire work of Christ on Calvary was for you.  Satan is now a defeated foe because Jesus conquered him.  (Colossians 2:14-15.)  He is overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony.  (Revelation 12:11.)  Fight a good fight of faith.  (I Timothy 6:12.)  You must stand immovable against the adversary and be firm in faith against the situation−be rooted, establish, strong, and determined.  (I Peter 5:9.)  Speak God’s Word boldly and courageously.
An Example of an intercessory prayer:

For our President and Government

“Father, in Jesus name, we give thanks for our country and its government.  We hold up in prayer before you the men and women who are in positions of authority.  We pray and intercede for the President, the Representatives, the Senators, the Judges of our land, the Armed Forces, the Policemen, as well as the Governors and Mayors, and for all those who are in authority over us in any way.  We pray that the Spirit of the Lord rests upon them giving them wisdom and protection.”

“SATAN, WE SPEAK TO YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS.  WE BIND YOU; YOUR PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS, THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS, AND WICKED SPIRITS IN HEAVENLY PLACES AND TEAR DOWN STRONGHOLDS USING THE MIGHTY WEAPONS GOD HAS PROVIDED FOR US IN THE NAME OF JESUS.  WE BIND UP THAT BINDING SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST.  WE BIND EVERY SPIRIT OF THE TERRORISTS THROUGHOUT THIS WORLD AND WHO PRESENTLY ARE HIDING IN OUR OWN COUNTRY AND FAMILIAR SPIRITS; WE CALL THEM TO BE EXPOSED.  WE BIND ANY WORLDLY WISDOM IN ANY FORM−EVERY OPPOSER TO THE TRUTH.  WE BIND EVERY DESTRUCTIVE, DECEITFUL, THIEVING SPIRIT.  YOU ARE LOOSE FROM YOUR ASSIGNMENT AGAINST ____________ IN THE NAME OF JESUS FOR THEY ESCAPE FROM THE SNARE OF THE DEVIL THAT HAS HELD THEM CAPTIVE.”

“We believe that skillful and Godly wisdom has entered into the heart of our President; knowledge and wisdom is the Rock of his foundation.  Discretion watches over him; understanding keeps him and delivers him from the way of the evil one and from evil men.  He thinks and counsels with advisers who are submissive to the wisdom and knowledge of God.

Father, we state that You surround the President with men and women who make their hearts and ears attentive to Godly counsel and do that which is right in your site.  We believe You cause them to be men and women of integrity who work in peace and unity, who are true representatives of the people are obedient to You in all godliness and honesty concerning us, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life.  We pray that the upright will lead our government… that they are men and women blameless and complete in Your site, Father, will remain in these positions of authority; but the wicked will be cut off of our government and the ungodly representatives will be exposed and rooted out of leadership.  We call all people who are in authority in this country to walk uprightly, continually being convinced by the Holy Spirit that their walk and that the decisions are directed completely from You, the Most High God.

Your Word declares that ‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord...’  We receive your blessing.  Father, You are our refuge and stronghold in times of trouble (inflation, recession, destitution and desperation).  We declare with our mouths that your people dwell safely in this land and we prosper abundantly.  We are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus!

It is written in your word that the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord and You turn it whichever way You desire.  We believe the heart of our leader is in Your hand and that his decisions are divinely directed by the Lord.

We give thanks unto You that the good news of the gospel is published in our land.  The Word of the Lord prevails and grows mightily in the hearts and lives of the people.  We give thanks for this land and the leaders You have given to us, in Jesus name.”  “Jesus is Lord over the United States!”

Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  (James 1:22.)  Faith without works or corresponding action is dead.  (James 2:17.)  Do not be mental assenters (the expression of approval or agreement–Oxford Dictionary)–those who agree that the Bible is true but never act on it.  Real faith is acting on God’s Word NOW.  We cannot build faith without practicing the Word.  (True, initially everyone has been given the same measure of faith, but as you hold fast to the Word, learn more from the Word, and live the Word–your faith grows and becomes stronger as you mature by feeding on the Word of God.)  We cannot develop an effective prayer life that is anything but empty words unless God’s Word actually has a part in our lives.  We are to be steadfast to our confession by the truth of God’s Word.  Our Lord Jesus is the High Priest of our confession (Hebrews 3:1), and He is the Guarantee of a better agreement–a more excellent and advantageous covenant.  (Hebrews 7:22.)
Prayer does not cause faith to work, but faith causes prayer to work.  Therefore, any prayer problem is a problem of doubt–doubting the integrity of the Word and of the ability of God to stand behind His promises or the statements of the fact that His Word is true and effective.

The cover shown above is one of my creations using one of my photos I took in The Netherlands. The lavender flowers are a pathway through the woods.  I just flipped the front cover horizontally so it would appear as a pathway coming together towards the back of the book and then created the spine of the book to match the color of the lavender.  Of course, after I submitted my cover to the publishers they added the ISBN Bar Code and thier Logo on the back and the spine.  I was extremely pleased when my Marketing Consultant said, "The cover was a real eye catcher."  But I have found through my life anything God creates is a real "Eye Catcher."    I guess that is why so many of my photos are of the natural beauties of the earth.

(Matthew 6:26-34 - these are words of Jesus)  (26) "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns: yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?  (27)Which of you by worrying can add a cubit (18 to 20 inches) to your height or stature?  (28) So why do you worry about clothing?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow:  they neither toil nor spin; (29) and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  (30) Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you.  Oh, you of little faith?  (31) Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' (32) For after all these things the Gentiles seek.  For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. (33) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will  be added to you.  (34) Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

A Powerful Example is
The Lord’s Prayer

A good example that Jesus shared is “The Lord’s Prayer” but keep in mind, He made it very clear not to be as the hypocrite (putting on a show) and not to be repetitious, that is why it is important to really fill your heart and mind with Promises of His Word.

Take notice to the different parts of the Lord’s prayer:
(9) In this manner, therefore, pray (or, this is an example of how to learn to pray):
“Our Father in heaven, Hallowed (Holy) is Your name.
(10) Your kingdom come.  Your (Word) will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
(11) Give us this day our daily bread.
(12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors (Praying for forgiveness is qualified by a readiness to forgive personal injury; verses 14-15 say, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.)
(13)And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.  For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen (or, let it be so).

Let’s look at the Lord’s model prayer.

First, we are acknowledging the Father’s location and His Holiness.  The Word of God says, what is bound in heaven is bound on earth.

Secondly, (this is extremely comforting) we are acknowledging this is God’s Kingdom, not Satan’s kingdom; Satan has already been defeated at Calvary, through the blood, the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Also, keep in mind that Jesus now sits at the Right Hand of the Father as the GREAT INTERCESSOR!  HALLELUJAH!

Thirdly, “give us our daily bread”; this is our time of requesting and confessing by faith the promises of God’s Word.

Fourthly, we want to make sure that nothing in our life is causing us to be outside of the umbrella in the rain.  Most times unanswered prayer comes from people or intercessors that are not under the Blood of Jesus.  You cannot come to the Father but through Jesus’ atonement on the cross.  Again, the Holy Spirit will show you where you stand.  Years ago we would often use the word “convict,” I personally don’t like that word, it sounds negative and my God is so far from being negative.  I believe the Holy Spirit “convinces us” of wrongs or what is the right way to act upon situations, therefore, we are more than willing to immediately make it right.  We are still human beings, what makes us different is that we stand under the Blood of Christ, righteous and holy before the Father so He will hear our petitions and answer them.

Again, the beginning of verse 13  is extremely important in the act of faith or the works of faith, since it is the final petition when you are requesting God to strengthen you to withstand immoral peril in case the petitioner fails in our work of faith and we becomes overwhelmed by the temptation of the evil one.  Keep in mind that Satan and all of his cohorts know a strong intercessor by name; remember the scripture where the demon said, "Jesus I know,  and Paul I know, but who are you?"

Last of all, is acknowledging God’s awesome power!  “Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen (or, let it be so).”  He is Omnipotent and His glory or anointing fills the Throne room.  HE WILL DO THE IMPOSSIBLE!
